By accessing The AI Toll website and API ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Service description
The AI Toll provides a curated observatory of AI's societal impact, including structured data, risk indices, regulatory tracking, and analytical tools accessible via website and API.
3. Access tiers
- Explorer (Free) — limited API access, read-only risk index, public methodology.
- Professional — extended API access, automated reports, alerts. Subject to subscription agreement.
- Institutional — unlimited access, white-label rights, custom integrations. Subject to enterprise agreement.
4. Acceptable use
The Service may not be used to:
- Systematically scrape or bulk-download the database beyond API rate limits
- Redistribute the dataset without a data licensing agreement
- Misrepresent the data or attribute fabricated findings to The AI Toll
- Use the data for discriminatory, harmful, or unlawful purposes
5. Academic use
Qualifying academic institutions may apply for dedicated academic access at reduced rates. Academic users are expected to cite The AI Toll in publications using the provided citation framework. Academic access is for research purposes and does not include commercial redistribution rights.
6. Data accuracy
The AI Toll strives for accuracy but does not guarantee that all data is error-free. The observatory is a research tool, not legal or financial advice. Users should verify critical data points independently.
7. Intellectual property
The observatory's taxonomy, risk indices, reports, and analytical framework are proprietary. The underlying data is collected from public sources and is attributed accordingly. API users receive a license to use the data within the scope of their access tier.
8. Limitation of liability
The AI Toll is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The Observatory is not liable for decisions made based on the data provided.
9. Modifications
These terms may be updated. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
